Pharmacists in Response to the Opioid Crisis: Naloxone and Drug Take-Back

Pharmacists have a critical role in addressing the opioid crisis and opioid safety with patients. We are offering both a morning and evening event where pharmacists will learn:

  • How to prescribe the various formulations of naloxone consistent with Oregon Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • How to educate patients on proper administration of naloxone.
  • Gain awareness of the Oregon Board of Pharmacy’s syringe access policy and rules for pharmacy collection of unused medications and safe drug disposal.
  • How to navigate difficult conversations with patients and about the current overdose and prescribing trends in the region.
