Local Efforts for Naloxone & Overdose Prevention

EMS and Naloxone

EMS in actionWashington County’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program tracks and monitors the daily use of naloxone by EMS responders. This serves to help the county understand the growth of opioid addiction, where opioids are being used and at what rate.

The EMS program also works closely with Medical Director Dr. Ritu Sahni and Deputy Health Officer Dr. Christina Baumann to provide training to all law enforcement agencies within the county and assist them in getting naloxone kits for patrol vehicles.
